We offer a comprehensive range of services in employment relations and labour law for employers in both the public and private sectors. The firm assists clients with collective bargaining, representations in union elections, unfair labour practice proceedings, wrongful termination matters, workers compensation claims and formulating personnel policies and practices.

Our Litigation team handles court proceedings resulting from these activities but our emphasis leans towards alternate dispute resolution mechanisms instead of protracted court sessions.

Our environment law team has been involved in environmental impact assessments in several infrastructure projects and also participate in public interest litigation cases.

In addition to negotiating, documenting and closing mortgage loans, lawyers in this area of practice have participated in a wide range of credit transactions. We have also represented micro-lenders, insurance companies and other lending institutions.

Lawyers in this work area prepare and negotiate commitment letters, loan agreements, notes and mortgages, loan participation agreements and other loan documentation. The firm handles local acquisition, development, construction and permanent mortgage loans and loan workouts and restructurings. We have also handled debt collection and security enforcement procedures for all the client banks mentioned above. Incidental commercial litigation which frequently results   from these activities is handled by a designated team of Advocates led by one of the partners.

We are also able to assist clients in corporate taxation, securities work, public equity and debt offerings complimented by expertise from our professional associates.  In this regard we are closely associating ourselves with the Capital Markets Authority and the Uganda Securities Exchange as the stock market develops.

We have assisted numerous companies in the registration, licensing and management of trademarks, patents and copyrights.  We have also assisted a multinational client in the creation of regional licensing structure to maximize the protection of its intellectual property assets in the Great Lakes Region. 

Litigation arising from the infringement of intellectual property assets is also handled by the Firm as outside general counsel.
